July 2001; The development of high throughput gene mapping system started by Plant Function Exploration Team of Plant Functional Genomics Research Group at Riken GSC center and Scimedia Ltd.
Jan 2002; "Mapping primers for plants genes and its mapping system" were applied as joint patent application.
July 2002; As the plant functional team moved from Wako-city in Saitama prefecture to Tsurumi-ku in Yokohama-city, establishment of the venture company was set out.
Mar 2003; Inplanta Innovations Inc. was founded at IDEC (known as Leading Venture Plaza) at Ono-cho, Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama-city.
June 2003; The company were admitted as 15th Riken venture company by Riken Institutes.
 
Future business scheme

There isn't enough understanding about agri-bio business, especially genetically modified foods, among people in Japan. One of the causes is said that it was developed from the producer's point of view. From the experience it costs, the attempt of making genetically modified crops have started domestically with the viewpoint of developing medically beneficial crops which are desired by consumers and developing new materials which can serve as alternative source of oil energy. These attempts have spread to all over the world, off course, the quest and the research of functional genes to create beneficial plants are carried out worldwide.

Inplanta Innovations is the bio venture company specializing in plants and serves as the third established company in domestic. Currently we have provided the high throughput gene mappings services, the great tools for identifying target genes and for timesaving, and the Fox Hunting System to provide the comprehensive analysis of functional genes for the people who are carrying on intensive research competitions. Through the experimental analysis services, we would like to get more contacts with researchers at the scene and to collect more information about current trends in research fields. For the days ahead, we are going to connect consumer and our built-up knowledge smoothly to propose high value-added plants and to develop our future business scheme in such a filed.
